- The monthly chapter meeting was on April 10, 2008 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney. A very interesting program was given by Mrs. Kathy Gregory, Director of Voluntary Service from the VA North Texas Health Care System in Bonham. She gave a report on the dollar amount of items that had been given by the SAR chapters. A large number of items were brought by members for her to take back to be used as needed.

- McKinney Chapter President Milton Lentz donated five ladies purses to the veterans hospital in Bonham, Texas on January 28, 2008.
- Compatriot John Greer presented his Timothy Murphy program for the Mesquite SAR Chapter on January 17, 2008. The Mesquite Chapter gave him a check for his presentation which he endorsed and donated to the Patriots fund.
- The monthly chapter meeting was on January 10, 2008 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney. FPG Nathan White installed the 2008 officers.

- On Tuesday, November 20, 2007 Compatriot Willie Walker was the speaker at the Edmond Terrell chapter in Sherman. The subject was "Geo-Politics and the Revolutionary War in the South."
- On Monday, November 19, 2007 Compatriots Willie Walker, Dan Reed (Plano/McKinney) and Ned LaRowe (Plano) held a program for 5th students at Hedgecoxe elementary school in Plano.
- The monthly chapter meeting was on November 8, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- The McKinney and Plano chapters co-hosted the fall BOM on October 28-29, 2007 at the Southfork Hotel in Plano.
- On October 13, 2007 at 2:00 PM, Compatriot Willie Walker was the guest speaker at the Captain David Phillips DAR chapter of Sulphur Springs, Texas. His subject was "The Geo-politics of the Revolutionary War in the South".
- On Saturday, October 13, 2007 the McKinney chapter held a joint meeting with John Abston DAR chapter at the Heard-Craig Hall in McKinney. Past NSSAR President General Nathan White and his wife Wanda were the speakers at the meeting. The subject of their talk was "A Year of Travel for SAR".
- The McKinney Chapter held its regular monthly meeting on September 13, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant.
- McKinney Chapter Members were in the Color Guard at Plano Centre on August 8, 2007.
- The Texas Society held a Board Of Managers meeting on August 4 & 5, 2007 at the Tapatio Springs Resort at Boerne, Texas.
- The Dallas Morning News of August 3, 2007 had an article about FPG Nathan White's year as President General of the SAR.
- On July 26, 2007 Mike Radciff, Peter Rowley, Richard Arnold and Willie Walker served as color guard for the inauguration of the Ron Jones, the new mayor of Garland.
- McKinney Chapter Members were in the Color Guard in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 13, 2007.
- As part of the Patriotic Holiday Compatriot John Greer did hisTimothy Murphy program for the
Men's Koffee Klach of the Presbyterian North Retirement Center. There
were 30 men present for my presentation on Thursday June 28, 2007.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting on June 14, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- June 14, 2007: Compatriot John Greer was a participant in the City of Greenville Flag Day ceremony on the
Courthouse steps in downtown Greenville. In his Color Guard clothing he led
the Pledge of Allegiance at 6:00 P.M. Wendell Edwards of the Ambassador
Fletcher Warren Chapter was master of ceremonies. The Elks club gave a
history of the Flag.
- Compatriots Peter Rowley, Willie Walker, Mike Radcliff and John Greer presented the colors at
the Commerce Memorial Day program on May 28, 2007.
- On Thursday May 24, 2007, Compatriot John Greer gave SAR Good Citizenship pins to deserving students at Lamar Elementary School and Travis Elementary
school in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
- On Tuesday morning May 22, 2007, Compatriot John Greer gave a SAR Good Citizenship pin to an outstanding 4th grade student at Carter Elementary School in Greenville, Texas. John did the
same at Crockett School that afternoon.
- On May 22, 2007 members of the McKinney and Plano chapters presented the Colors at a new immigrant Naturalization Ceremony held at Plano Centre.
- On May 21, 2007 the TXSSAR Color Guard presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance and retired the colors at the Craig Ranch Golf Course in McKinney Texas honoring 14 National Guard Iraq veterans who played for free. Compatriots present were Richard Arnold, William Walker and Mike Radcliff.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting on May 10, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- The John Abston DAR chapter held a re-dedication ceremony at John Abston's grave in the cemetery near Lake Lavon on April 14, 2007. SAR members from several chapters attended.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting on April 12, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- On April 4, 2007 members of the McKinney and Plano chapters participated in a USCIS Naturalization Ceremony held at the Garland ISD Special Events Center.
- The annual TXSSAR Conference was held in San Antonio March 23-25, 2007. Several McKinney members attended.
- Compatriot John Greer did his "Timothy Murphy, the best shot in the revolutionary war" program for the Captain Charles Croxall Chapter of the
DAR on March 24, 2007. The meeting was held at the Charleston (Delta County), Texas Methodist Church.
- The Plano Chapter shipped 5 boxes weighing 142 pounds of school supplies, notebooks, notebook paper, pencils, crayons, marking pens, Soccer Balls, & Beanie Babies to Captain John B. Bradley III in Iraq.
- Judge Ed Kinkeade requested the Plano Chapter of Collin County, Sons of the American Revolution to participate in uniform on March 21, 2007 for the U.S. Citizen Naturalization Ceremony in Dallas for the New Citizens of the United States.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting on March 8, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- On March 5, 2007, Compatriot John Greer donated Clovis Brakbill's book entitled "Revolutionary Soldiers Buried in Texas"
to the Genealogy section of the Greenville Public Library.
- The Ambassador Fletcher Warren SAR chapter and Willaim Croxall DAR chapter held a joint meeting at the First Baptist Church in Fairlie, TX on Saturday, February 17, 2007. Jim Johnson, John Greer and Willie Walker served as color guard. The program "The First Presidents and Their Wives" was presented by Jim and Mary Lynn Johnson.
- On Thursday night, February 15, 2007, John Greer presented his Timothy Murphy for the Red River Valley chapter.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting on February 8, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- On February 1, 2007, the Color Guard participated in the naturalization ceremony for new citizens at the Plano Centre.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting on January 11, 2007 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- On January 9, 2007, members of the McKinney and Plano SAR chapters performed color guard duties for a new citizen Naturalization Cermony at the Arlington Convention Center where 595 new citizens were naturalized.
- On January 5, 2007 McKinney Compatriot Willie Walker accompanied members of the Brazos Valley Chapter to the Cornerstone Christian Academy in Granbury, Texas. They presented a Revolutionary War program to the class of 5th graders.
- On January 2, 2007 members from the McKinney and Plano chapters performed color guard duties for the opening ceremony of the Denton, TX 150 Anniversary celebration.
- On December 18, 2006 Jim Johnson (Denton/McKinney), Chris Casey (Denton), Bob DeBerry (Edmond Terrell) and Willie Walker (McKinney/Plano) did five programs in Mrs. Paula Parker's 5th grade class at Dillingham Intermediate School in Sherman.
- Members of the McKinney and Plano SAR chapters presented a program at the Huddleston Middle School in Princeton, Texas on December 16, 2006.
- December 14, 2006: The monthly McKinney SAR meeting was held at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney. A representative of Collin County Meals on Wheels was the guest speaker.
- On November 18, 2006 the Plano ISD held their Elementary District History Fair for the 4th and 5th grade students at Rice Elementary, PISD, Plano. Ned LaRowe, Drake Peddie, Steve Seachord of the Plano Chapter, Charlene Seachord and DAR Sandi Craig judged Multi Media and Poster Board entries from 42 elementary schools in the Plano ISD for the District History Fair.
- November 17, 200: McKinney Compatriot Ken and Wosar Adelle Bell sent holiday boxes to our troops overseas and included the McKinney SAR Chapter and the Frisco DAR Chapter on the forms provided at the meeting on November 11th.
- The Collin County SAR chapters donated the book "The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Revolutionary War Graves Registry" to the McKinney Memorial Library. The book was accepted by Ms. Beth Scudder, Library Director.
- On November 16, 2006 a U.S. Citizen Naturalization Ceremony was held at the Plano Centre, Plano for 511 new citizens from 78 different countries for a total 1,083 persons were in attendance. The North Texas Color Guard was requested to present and retrieve the Colors for the Naturalization Ceremony.
- On November 15th members of the John Abston DAR chapter (McKinney) and the McKinney SAR chapter met with McKinney Mayor, the Honorable Bill Whittfield who read a proclamation celebrating Veteran's Day. The McKinney SAR chapter presented the City of McKinney a Flag Certificate at the same meeting.
- The McKinney SAR chapter met jointly with the John Abston DAR chapter at the historic Heard-Craig house in McKinney on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2006. Congressman Sam Johnson was the guest speaker.
- On Friday, November 10, 2006, Texas Society President Tom Green presented a Flag Program to the 5th grade students at Huddleston Middle School in Princeton, Texas. Other SAR members present were FSP Dick Arnold, Mike Radcliff, Robert Hall and Willie Walker. Willie Walker presented Principal Anita Barch a Flag Certificate.
- The November BOM was held in Houston on November 4-5, 2006.
- On November 5, 2006, Sunday afternoon at the Schimelpfenig Library, David
Price, a junior at Plano Senior High, won the Rumbaugh Region 4 Oration
Contest. The contest was sponsor by the Plano Chapter of the Sons of the
American Revolution.
- On November 4, 2006 the Plano Chapter of Collin County, Matthew Bolton Society, Children of the American Revolution participated in the American Flag Raising Ceremony preparing for the 7th Veterans Day Celebration at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery.
- On November 2, 2006 the Plano ISD Wyatt Elementary School conducted a history fair, with a theme "Triumph and Tragedy in History" for fourth and fifth grade students. Judging the entries were Compatriots Dan Reed, Steve Seachord and Wosar Sandi Craig.
- On October 23, 2006 Mayor Pat Evans accepted a portrait of President George Washington on behalf of the City of Plano at the City Council Meeting, . This portrait will be displayed in City Hall for all to view. It was presented by the Plano and McKinney SAR Chapters.
- On October 15, 2006, Compatriots Mike Radcliff and Dan Reed presented the colors at the Bethany Elementary School star-spangled week celebration.
- McKinney compatriot John Greer presented his program on the Revolutionary War marksman Timothy Murphy to the Dallas Chapter on October 14, 2006.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Steak Kountry Restaurant on October 12, 2006.
- On October 10, 2006, Compatriot Mike Radcliff presented special awards at the Plano Chapter meeting.
- Compatriots Wendell Edwards and John Greer presented
the SAR Fire Safety award to Dorsey Driggers, the retiring Hunt County Fire Marshal on September 30,
2006.
- McKinney Chapter President Willie Walker appeared with the Brazos Valley Chapter for a Constitution Week program in Dublin, Texas on September 20, 2006.
- The Color Guard was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Department of Homeland Security at the Garland ISD Special Event Center on September 20, 2006.
- The Color Guard performed at a new citizen naturalization ceremony on September 18, 2006 at Dallas Convention Center.
- The North Texas Color Guard was featured in the September, 2006 issue of Plano Profile magazine.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Steak Kountry Restaurant on September 14, 2006.
- The Plano and McKinney SAR Chapters provided the Color Guard for the Bethany Elementary School on September 11, 2006.
- On August 8, 2006 the Collin County Color Guard of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) presented and retrieved the Colors for the U.S. Citizen Naturalization Ceremony held at the Plano Centre, Plano.
- On August 5-6, 2006, McKinney chapter members attended the Board of Managers meeting at Lake Jackson, Texas.
- On July 4, 2006, the Plano SAR and DAR had a float in the July 4th Plano Parade entitled "An All American Fourth."
- Members of the North Texas Color Guard performed at the Plano Symphony Orchestra Patriotic Concert at the Eisemann Center, Richardson. Music Director Hector Guzman directed the show entitled "Patriotic Pops" on July 4, 2006.
- Members of the North Texas Color Guard performed as color guard at a Department of Homeland Security naturalization service at the Plaza Theater in Garland, Texas on July 1st, 2006.
- On June 29, 2006 Compatriots Jim Johnson (McKinney & Denton), Dick Arnold (Plano & Dallas) and Willie Walker (Plano & McKinney) served as a color guard for a Department of Homeland Security naturalization service at the Plano Centre.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Steak Kountry Restaurant on June 8, 2006.
- Chapter President William Walker took the following items to the Bonham VA hospital:
37 magazines, 12 paperback books, 476 toilet items and 4 suitcases.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Steak Kountry Restaurant on May 11, 2006.
- Curtis and Martha Ratcliff celebrated 70 years of marriage on April 23, 2006. Compatriot Ratcliff has been a member of the Sons of the American Revolution since the early 1950's. The family requested that the Plano Chapter of Collin County present and post the Colors during the anniversary celebration.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Steak Kountry Restaurant on April 13, 2006.
- On April 12, 2006, the Anderson Elementary School of Allen ISD hosted a historical information and events presentation for the 1st grade students performed by the Denton, McKinney and Plano, Chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution.
- On April 6, 2006, the Town North Optimist Club hosted a Communication
Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the facilities provided by
Christ United Methodist Church. There were 14 contestants from the
Plano, Wylie, Frisco and Melissa Independent School Districts. The
Plano Independent School District provided the equipment and
interpreters. The contest is open to boys and girls who have at least a
40% hearing loss. The Plano and McKinney Chapters of the Sons of the American
Revolution provided the Colors with Pledge of Allegiance, judges, time
keeper and coordinator through the assistance of Compatriots Don Rector (Plano),
Michael Radcliff (Plano/McKinney), Tom Bohanon (Dallas Chapter), Peter Rowley (Plano/McKinney) and WOSAR
Sandi Craig. Medals were provided for the First, Second and Third Place
winners of the juniors, the senior girls and the senior boys. Overall
First, Second and Third prize was awarded with a $300, $200 and $100 US
Savings Bond respectively.
- The TXSSAR State Convention was held at the Sugar Land, Texas Marriott Hotel on March 17-19, 2006.
- Members from the McKinney and Plano chapters performed as color guards for the Plano Symphony Concerts for Plano and Frisco fifth grade students on March 14 and 15 and April 5. There were a total of six concerts seen by about 6200 students.
- On March 13, 2006 an American Revolution History Program with 7 different Classes and 7 Patriotic programs, was given at the Dillingham Elementary School in Sherman.
- The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Steak Kountry Restaurant on March 9, 2006.
- The SAR Color Guard presented the colors at the First Cub Scouts Pack 437's Blue and Gold Banquet held on March 4, 2006 in Richardson.
- On Thursday, March 2, 2006, the joint SAR Color Guard went to east Texas at Tyler for a U. S. Naturalization Ceremony by the Homeland Security Department.
- On Tuesday, February 28, 2006, the joint SAR Color Guard presented the flag at the U.S. Citizen Naturalization Ceremony at the Plano Civic Centre for the Homeland Security Department.
- The McKinney Chapter attended a joint meeting with the John Abston DAR Chapter on February 11, 2006. We met in the beautiful Heard-Craig Auditorium in McKinney. A fine pot luck luncheon was served by the DAR.
- The North Texas District Rumbaugh Oration Contest was held at the Schimelpfenig Library in Plano on Sunday, February 5, 2006. The winner was Chloe Sikes of Plano.
- On January 15, 2006, McKinney SAR Chapter members participated in the color guard for
the U.S. Citizen Naturalization Ceremony and Plano Martin Luther King Celebration 2006 at the First United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas. There is a web slide show of the color guard performance at this event. This event was also reported in the Murphy Messenger Newspaper of January 19, 2006.
- The McKinney Chapter held its regular monthly
meeting on January 12, 2006 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney. Mr. Donald Corben-Smith talked about the Scottish Rite Hospital for children in Dallas.
