- On December 7, 2009 in the Collin County Commissioners Court, Councilman Joe Jaynes presented the McKinney SAR chapter a proclamation designating December 7, 2009 as Pearl Harbor Rememberance Day in Collin County.
- The monthly meeting was November 12, 2009 at the El Dorado Country Club. These are the SAR meeting minutes.
Collin County Commissioner Joe Jaynes presented President Don Babbs with a proclamation for our McKinney SAR chapter denoting November 11 as Veterans Day in Collin County.
- On November 11, 2009, Compatriots Wendell Edwards and John Greer attended the Veterans Day program at the Bonham High School football stadium. This was one of only
four Veterans Day programs in Texas that was done by the V.A. Afterwards, Wendell and John helped serve lunch to all veterans attending.
- The monthly meeting was jointly held with the McKinney DAR chapter on October 10, 2009. Dr. McCaslin of NTSU gave a very interesting program on the comparison of the lives of Robert E. Lee and George Washington. These are the SAR meeting minutes.

McKinney Chapter President Don Babbs visited the Texas Veterans Home in Bonham on Thursday, October 8, 2009. President Babbs represented the McKinney SAR Chapter and James Roddy represented the Ambassador Fletcher Warren Chapter. Together with the VFW they served dinner and desert to the Veterans.
- McKinney Chapter members John Greer, Robert Hall, Dan Reed, and Dr. Gary
Sisson participated in the Color Guard Saturday September 26, 2009 in recognizing
three Revolutionary War soldiers who are buried in lost graves somewhere
in Red River County, Texas. There was a memorial grave dedication in the
Clarksville City Cemetery for the following three Revolutionary War
soldiers: James Potter Collins, David Strickland, and John Tollett, Sr.
The William Barron and Red River Chapters did a wonderful job with the
ceremony. A special thanks to Mike Everheart for his hard work
coordinating the event.

- McKinney Chapter president Don Babbs rode in the Plano parade on July 4, 2009.
- On Saturday June 27, 2009 Compatriots Wendell Edwards and John Greer gave out 5 Heroism medals at the
Audie Murphy days in Greenville.
- Compatriots Wendell Edwards and John Greer helped Volunteer Services at the Bonham VA Hospital
Friday June 26, 2009 in a pre-Independence day cookout for the staff and
patients.
- On June 16, 2009 Compatriot John Greer went on a fishing outing with two disabled veterans.
- On June 14, 2009 Compatriot John Greer participated in uniform at the Hunt County Fairgrounds in a
Flag Day presentation.
- The monthly meeting was June 11, 2009 at the El Dorado Country Club. The guest speaker Chief Roma discussed the McKinney fire deparment and emergency medical services.

- Compatriots Wendell Edwards and John Greer gave out Good Citizenship pins to 4th grade
students June 1, 2009 at Lamar, Bowie, and Carter elementary schools.
On June 3, 2009 they gave out pins at the Austin school in Commerce.
- Compatriot John Greer participated in the North Texas Color Guard at the May 26th Memorial
Day service at the Rosewood Cemetery in Commerce, Texas.
- The McKinney Chapter did a flag retirement ceremony on Veteran's Day May 16, 2009 at the Gabe-Nesbitt Park in McKinney, Texas. A letter and poem from World War II veteran Bill Compton to President President Don Babbs.
- The monthly meeting was April 9, 2009 at the El Dorado Country Club. A special remembrance of Compatriot William Kenneth (Willie) Walker, who passed away today, was led by Peter McLellan.

- The monthly meeting was March 12, 2009 at the El Dorado Country Club. Plano Chapter President Drake Peddie spoke about the role of privateers in the American Revolution.
- In March Compatriot John Greer donated a large book cart to the VA Hospital in Bonham for
their library.
- Compatriots Robert Hall and Willie Walker performed in the color guard for the Plano Symphony Orchestra for local 5th graders on March 4, 2009.
- McKinney SAR Chapter members met with the John Abston DAR on Saturday February 14, 2009 at the historic Heard-Craig Carriage House.
- The monthly meeting was February 12, 2009 at the El Dorado Country Club. Texas State President Harry Fife was guest speaker.
- There was a nice article about the Bob Tomes presentation in the Friday, January 9, 2009 edition of the "McKinney Neighbors" section ot the Dallas Morning News.
- The monthly meeting was January 8, 2009 at Rick's Chop House at 7 pm in downtown McKinney. Compatriot Nathan White gave us an update of the status of the SAR both nationally and in Texas.
- The monthly meeting was December 11, 2008 at the Nathan and Wanda White in McKinney. A delightful Christmas meal was served. McKinney businessman Bob Tomes talked about what the U.S. flag means to him.
- The monthly meeting was Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the First Christian Church of McKinney. The McKinney SAR chapter met jointly with the McKinney DAR chapter. Lt. Colonel Eric Holmes gave an interesting talk on rebuilding Iraq.
- October 31, 2008: SAR members from the Plano and McKinney chapters talked to approximately 200 history students representing eight classes at Murphy Middle School.
- On October 29, 2008 Compatriots Milton Lentz and Gary Coats delivered underwear and books which were donated to the Bonham VA Hospital, Voluntary Services by the McKinney SAR Chapter.
- October 24-26, 2008: Several McKinney chapter members attended the Board of Managers meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn in Temple, Texas.
- The monthly meeting was Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the McKinney Country Club. The evening guest speaker was Don Jacobs of the Texas Fallen Soldiers Project.
- September 20, 2008: McKinney Compatriots Milton Lentz, Peter McLellan and Nathan E. White went to "Meet and Greet The Troops" at DFW airport.
- The monthly meeting was Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Steak Kountry Restaurant. The guest speaker was Collin County Sheriff Terry Box.
- Compatriots Wendell Edwards, President of the Ambassador Fletcher Warren Chapter and John Greer of the McKinney Chapter led the annual Flag Day program on the steps of the Hunt County Courthouse on June 14, 2008.
- The monthly meeting was Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Steak Kountry Restaurant. The guest speaker described the life and times of Collin McKinney, who founded Collin County and the city of McKinney.
- Compatriot John Greer presented SAR Good Citizenship pins to 4th grade students at Travis, Bowie and Crockett elementary schools in Greenville, Texas on June 3rd and 4th, 2008.
- The monthly meeting was Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 2 - 5 PM at Valley Creek Elementary School Park in McKinney. Members witnessed and helped retire worn U. S. flags, feasted on hamburgers, hot dogs and desserts, and enjoyed each other's company. Members of the McKinney and Allen DAR Chapters also participated.
- The monthly chapter meeting was on April 10, 2008 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney. A very interesting program was given by Mrs. Kathy Gregory, Director of Voluntary Service from the VA North Texas Health Care System in Bonham. She gave a report on the dollar amount of items that had been given by the SAR chapters. A large number of items were brought by members for her to take back to be used as needed.
- Several members of the McKinney Chapter attended the SAR State Convention at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Arlington, Texas on March 27-29, 2008.
- The monthly chapter meeting was on March 13, 2008 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- The monthly chapter meeting was on February 21, 2008 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney.
- McKinney Chapter President Milton Lentz donated five ladies purses to the veterans hospital in Bonham, Texas on January 28, 2008.
- Compatriot John Greer presented his Timothy Murphy program for the Mesquite SAR Chapter on January 17, 2008. The Mesquite Chapter gave him a check for his presentation which he endorsed and donated to the Patriots fund.
- The monthly chapter meeting was on January 10, 2008 at the Steak Kountry restaurant in McKinney. FPG Nathan White installed the 2008 officers.
