The McKinney SAR Chapter held its monthly meeting on March 8, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Steak Kountry Restaurant in McKinney.

Addendees were: Billy & Kathleen Thompson, Don & Ann Sielert, Rpbert Hall, Nick & Ann Harper, Marshall & Sylvia Battle, Nathan & Wanda White, Eugene Trimble, Larry Jones, Ron Smith, Pete McLellan, Willie Walker, Asst Fire Chief Frank Roma, Capt. Russell Griffin and wife Crystal.

Treasurer Cecil Coale reported later that there were $733 in available funds in the chapter bank account.

Assistant Fire Chief Frank Roma gave a very interesting talk on the origin of the EMS service in the US and McKinney in general. The first EMS service were funeral homes using hearses. The competing services would race to the call.

Captain Russell Griffin was presented the first EMT award presented by the McKinney chapter and Chief Roma was presented a Certificate of Appreciation.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm by President McLellan.
