The McKinney SAR Chapter held its monthly meeting on June 14, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Steak Kountry Restaurant in McKinney.

Attendees were: Billy & Kathleen Thompson, Don & Ann Sielert, Robert Hall, Cecil and Marcia Coale, Dick and Ann Harper Milton Lentz, Eugene Trimble, Larry Jones, Ron Smith, Pete and Dagne McLellan, Willie and Marylin Walker, Nathan and Wanda White.
Guests were Kirk, Cassie and Lana Stephans and Sgt. Milton Kizer, USMC ret. and Mrs. Kizer.

Today was Flag Day.

Treasurer Cecil Coale reported that there were $1116 in available funds in the chapter bank account.

Sgt. Kizer talked about his 27 year service in the air wing of the USMC during World War 2, Korea and Viet Nam. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 17 in 1943. President McLellan presented Sgt. Kizer with a Certificate of Appreciation and the SAR War Service medal.

President McLellan invited everyone to participate in the Iraq soldier greetings at the DFW airport.

President McLellan presented a Flag certificate and Bronze Good Citizen medal to Kirk Stephans. Mr. Stephans originated and led a successful fund raising effort which bought flags and flag poles for the newly constructed fire stations in McKinney.

There will be no meetings in July and August.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm by President McLellan.
