A 99 year old became a new citizen during the U.S. Citizen Naturalization Ceremony at the Dallas Convention Center on September 18, 2006. The Collin County Sons of the American Revolution were requested by Homeland Security, to present and retrieve the Colors for the New Citizens which the Oath of Allegiance was administered by Michael Chertoff, Secretary of the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. There were 331 new citizens from 63 different countries with a total of 731 persons. Photos with the SAR were taken with the Color Guard after the Ceremony which included Richard Arnold, Mike Radcliff, Robert Hall and Dan Reed from the Plano SAR Chapter. The 99 year old citizen will turn 100 in a few week and the family request a color guard at the celebration.
