The McKinney SAR Chapter held its monthly meeting on November 11, 2006 at 10:00am jointly with the John Abston DAR Chapter at the historic Heard-Craig house in McKinney.

Those attending the meeting were: Ken Bell, Bill Bush, Cecil and Marcia Coale, Gary Coats, John Greer, Ernest Martin, Peter and Dagne McLellan, Milton Lenz, Dan and Ann Sielert, James and Mae Shaw, Billy Thompson ,Willie and Marylin Walker, Mike Radcliff, Peter Rowley, Steve and Charlene Seachord.

Delightful refreshments were served by the DAR hostesses.

The SAR Chapters of Collin County Color Guard presented the Colors for the Ceremony. Mike Radcliff led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The Color Guard members were John Greer, Mike Radcliff, Peter Rowley and Steve Seachord. Photos were taken by Wosar Charlene Seachord.

Congressman Sam Johnson talked to the group about current events and his experiences in Korea and Viet Nam.

Congressman Johnson and Chapter president Willie Walker presented SAR War Service medals and certificates to SAR members who had served in World War II, Korea and Viet Nam. President Walker also presented a War Service Medal to Congressman Johnson.

President Walker presented Certificates of Appreciation to the John Abston DAR Chapter and Barbara Johnson Executive Director of the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts at the joint meeting on Vet's Day.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 am by President Walker.
