The McKinney Chapter met at Steak Kountry in McKinney on March 9, 2006 at 7 pm.

SAR members attending the meeting were: Drew and Michelle Alverson (McKinney),Ken and Adelle Bell (Dallas), Gary Coats (McKinney), Cecil and Marcia Coale (Plano/McKinney), Billy Compton and wife (visitors), James Davis (McKinney), Jim Edenburn (McKinney), John Greer (McKinney), Jim and Lynn Johnson (Denton/McKinney), Bob and Gloria Kinne (visitors), Milton and Jerry Lentz (McKinney), Carroll and Lynn Maxwell (McKinney), Peter and Downey McLellan, Frank Roberts (Louisiana SAR visitor), James and Mae Shaw (McKinney), Tommy and Margie Slay (McKinney), Dr. and Mrs. Bill Smith (guests), Willie and Marylin Walker (Plano/McKinney), Nathan and Wanda White (Plano/McKinney).

The meeting was called to order by President Walker at 7 pm.

Treasurer Cecil Coale reported about $1800 in the chapter bank account.

Drew Alverson and James Davis were sworn in as new members by Judge Nathan White.

President Walker presented Supplemental certificates to Craig Alverson and Gary Coats.

Past President McLellan presented the SAR Heroism Medal posthumously to 2nd Lt. Brian Smith. His father Dr. William Smith received the medal.

The evening's guest speaker, Dr. Smith told us about his son's Army service in Iraq.

Later, the beautiful cake celebrating the McKinney Chapter's third birthday was served to the chapter members.

President Walker adjourned the meeting at 8:15 pm.
