The McKinney Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Steak Kountry restaurant on June 8, 2004 at 7 pm.

Those attending the meeting were: Cecil and Marcia Coale, Carroll and Lynn Maxwell, Peter and Dagne McLellan, Don and Ann Sielert, James and Mae Shaw, Tommy Slay, Billy and Kathleen Thompson (visitors), Willie and Marylin Walker, Nathan White. Other visitors were USMC 1st. Sgt. Tim Dowd and his wife Patti, and his parents Lance and Joanie Dowd of McKinney.

The attendees ate supper from 6:30 to 7:00 pm.

President Walker called the meeting to order at 7 pm.

Treasurer Cecil Coale reported that there was $1745 in the chapter bank account.

Compatriot Nathan White briefed the group on the National Congress to be held in July, 2006 in Dallas.

Compatriot Pete McLellan presented USMC 1st. Sgt. Tim Dowd with the SAR medal for heroism for his valor in Iraq. Sgt. Dowd told the group about his 28 Marine snipers at Haditha, Iraq.

There will be no meeting in July or August. The McKinney Chapter will meet jointly with the DAR on September 11, 2006.

President Walker advised that an SAR Gold Good Citizenship medal for Ross Perot has been approved and is now being engraved. It will be presented later in the year.
